#WCEU 2018 Call for Photographers

Last year we started something special. If you have checked our Flickr page, you couldn’t but notice, many amazing photographs taken during last year’s event, all thanks to our extraordinary photography team. After such great success last year, WCEU is opening a call for photographers again for 2018.

In 2017, WCEU attracted a number of incredibly talented photographers from all over the world to cover the event in Paris. The images are publicly available on WCEU’s Flickr page. This year, WCEU wants to keep the momentum going, so organisers are officially calling for photographers again, to document what will be one of the biggest web conferences in the world.

If you love documentary-style photography or event coverage, apply to become part of the photography team. We also need people with keen eyes to edit photos and process them to be shared on social media during the event. That’s why we are adding the role of photo editor to the mix. Or if you’d rather shoot moving images, you can apply as a videographer or video editor instead.

Want to become a part of the photography team?

By being part of the photography team at WCEU, you’ll gain valuable experience and meet a lot of interesting people along the way, working with a group of like-minded individuals.

As an official WCEU photographer you will be expected to:

  • Shoot in your own style
  • Produce sharp, high quality photos/video
  • Edit and post-process your images
  • Release your images under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International license

Like all the other roles at WordCamp Europe, photography will be volunteer-based, so there is no remuneration, but it ensures a free ticket and an invitation to the Volunteers’ social (invite-only pre-party) as a thank you for your contribution.

We said it last year, but it bears repeating: WordPress is not only about code and poetry, it is also about community, bringing people together and learning from each other. A WordCamp embodies this like no other event and to make it memorable, we need your help. We want you to bring your unique vision and your photo and video skills to Belgrade in June.

Apply until March 31, 2018

If you are interested, fill out this form to apply.

Please do not forget to add a link to your portfolio or online gallery. Your application can only be considered, if you provide us with examples of your work. Thanks for understanding.

The call for photographers will be open until 23:59 UTC on March 31, 2018.

Thank you!
