Can I get an invoice/receipt?

If you need an invoice/receipt to claim the cost of your ticket back from your company or against tax then we can supply you with one. Please fill out the form on this page and allow 5 working days for us to process it. Please note that we will not process requests received after 31st July 2018.

Can I get an invitation letter?

Sorry, we are no longer issuing invitation letters to support your visa application. You needed to request one before 06 May 2018. Requests for invitation letters is now closed.

Can I pay without a PayPal account?

We recommend paying for your WCEU ticket using a PayPal account. However, if for any reason, you don’t have a PayPal account or are unable to use one – there is a workaround. You can pay using your credit card on PayPal without actually having a PayPal account. Alternatively we now offer payment via Stripe.

Can I get a refund?

We regret that we are unable to offer refunds. As PayPal only supports refunds 60 days after purchase, we decided that not doing refunds is the easier way to go. If you have bought a ticket but are now unable to attend, you can give it away as a gift, or sell it to somebody; you can edit the details using the link you received in your ticket purchase confirmation email.

If you need to find someone to pass your ticket on to, check our post. Tickets can be transferred by simply changing the name and email address.

I won’t be able to make it to the event. Can I sell my ticket?

Yes, you can sell or gift your unneeded ticket, but remember to update the details using the link you received in your ticket purchase confirmation email. You can find some extra details in our post.

I bought a ticket but didn’t receive a confirmation email

Please complete the form on this page. We will check if your payment went through and notify you of the status of your purchase.

Yes, we will be providing childcare/creche facilities over the two days of the conference. Please note that we cannot accept children below the age of 6 months. You can register for a childcare place using this form.

Are the venues accessible?

We’ve put together accessibility information about the conference venue and the after party/Contributor Day venue. If those pages are missing any information that you need, please contact us. We want to make our event as inclusive and accessible to as many people as possible. We’ve also created a page here that details further accessibility efforts we’ve made.

Can I volunteer to help with WCEU?

Unfortunately the call for volunteers is closed at this point.

Can I still register for one of the workshops?

Unfortunately, the registration for workshops is closed now. The call was open until the 30th of April. If people drop out of workshops before the event, we will provide a sign up list for the last open spots the day of the event – available at the infodesk. You can also queue up for each workshop that is at already full, just before it starts, to potentially grab a spot in case some registered attendees don’t show up.

No. Live animals are not allowed at any of the venues during WCEU 2018. If you are dependent on an animal, e.g. if you are visually impaired and rely on your guide dog, then please contact us first. But we don’t care how much you need it, we’re not going to let you bring an alpaca!

I live in the EU. Do I need my passport or I can use my ID or drivers license?

We recommend that everyone travelling to Serbia from another country should travel on a valid passport and, if necessary, secure a Visa in advance. You can check if you will need a Visa using this website.

I will be in Belgrade for a couple of days before/after the event. What sights/activities are there in the city?

Belgrade is a lively and modern European capital, and there is plenty to see and do in Belgrade. Whether it’s food, specific landmarks, or memorable sightseeing places, there is much to engage you and you will undoubtedly enjoy your visit to Belgrade. We recommend you start with the downtown area and a visit to the main pedestrianised road, Knez Mihailova Street, that leads to Kalemegdan Fortress. You’ll easily spend several happy hours there enjoying the historic landmarks and the natural delights, and if you get tired or hungry there are plenty of restaurants with great food for you to choose from! Of course, there are plenty of Belgrade related articles on our website, so read them and get informed before you travel so that you can make the most of your time in Belgrade.

What is the currency in Serbia? What is the exchange rate?

The Serbian currency is the “Dinar”, shorthand “Din”. The exchange rate varies, obviously, but not that much. You can always check the current exchange rate here.

What are the tipping customs in Serbia?

Unlike in the US or the EU tipping is not essential, but rounding up your bill is appreciated. If you can leave 10% of the bill that would count as a generous gesture.

Can we use credit cards while in Serbia?

You can pay by card in Serbia and they are widely accepted. Nevertheless you should have some cash in case a small local shop doesn’t accept cards or in case of technical problems accepting cards. The most commonly accepted cards are Visa, Visa Electron, Master and Maestro, while Diners and American Express are used rarely. If you are going to withdraw cash from an ATM, some banks may impose a charge, so please check with your bank before you leave.

To what extent is English spoken in Serbia?

Almost all younger people speak English very well. A large percentage of middle-aged people also speak English well enough for you to communicate with one another. You should encounter no communication problems in Serbia if you speak English.
