Speaker wrangler

Update!

Detailed work instructions for this role:

Speaker wrangler – talks

Speaker wrangler – workshops

About thirty minutes before a speaker has to get on stage, find them. Introduce yourself and confirm to the Speaker wrangler manager and your Room lead that you found the next speaker. Do not let the speaker out of your sight. Inform the speaker that there’s a Green room to relax and drop their backpack etc. before going on stage.

No later than fifteen minutes before the start of the speaker’s talk, take them to the room they will be speaking and help them set up. Introduce them to the emcee, if necessary, assist with wiring and putting the microphone on the speaker and connect their laptop to the projector. If anything like connectors/adapters is missing, inform the Room lead immediately.
Assist speakers with everything else they might need.

After the talk and Q&A, guide the speaker back to the Green room.

A tight communication with speakers, the room leads and the speaker wrangler manager is necessary.
Your presence is needed in the Green Room, the room assigned to you and the area in between during your half day shift(s).
